4 . 30 . 2015   Up past the Cub River, Idaho on Birch Creek Rd ...  We went as far as we could go before we were stopped by snow drifts blocking the road... We could almost get over the top of the mountain summit and down the other side but not quite ... short of getting to Mink Creek by about 6 miles is my best guess.
The day was so bright and clear and everything seemed fresh with new growth and greenery.  I imagined that we could cross over the summit with just maybe a hint of this past winter's snow laying by the side.  But alas, that wasn't to be and we traversed back down the way we came towards the west  .... to Lewiston, Richmond, Smithfield... and on to Logan..

For some of my work I use a 12" x 16" block of #300 weight Arches rough paper....  It's convenient to carry around and use wherever I might go.

4 . 19 . 2015   A few months ago I took a photograph of a little wooded hillside at the foot of a mountain in Logan Canyon .... A painting from that.
I was told by the gallery that this painting with it's off-white mat and really nice frame went off to live somewhere in Texas.

4 . 6 . 2015  .. Another painting of the mountain range that lies east of Lewiston, Idaho.  In the foreground of the scene was a field of rocks and boulders. In this painting I've tried to indicate the feeling of a very rocky hill that I was viewing the mountain range from...... don't know if I was all that successful in interpreting the location....
This is a small painting 7" x 7 1/2" in a 2" mat...  I titled it "Lewiston Range"

I like coming back to this scene ...here is another slight variation...
