                                        Watercolor   9 1/2 x 13 1/2

My wife is working on a new rug hooking in her studio….Her work is so time consuming with all the pulling and pushing of wool strips thru material…But she is super talented in her art…..Wish I had the patience to do this kind of stuff….maybe that's why I go with watercolor…painlessly quick by comparison.

Acrylic, gouache, and watercolor on gesso'd canvas  …..A mountain meadow.

Acrylic and watercolor  on gesso'd masonite board

One of my paintings that I completed last year….I like to paint in these heavy earthy colors, as I try to represent more of our great western wilderness scenes….

Another version of the painting above…In this one I used more panes grey

A rug hooking that my wife finished some time ago…..This is a 3'x5' rug that's on her studio floor….

My wife does these really neat rugs that she hooks……So, our creations are all over our home..She's a really talented artist and her rug hooking studio, filled with all it's organized stacks of different colored wool, is right next door to my studio.  Often we're oblivious to the rest of the world when we're upstairs creating….unless there's a big (take us away from our fun) distraction.
I think I'm going to include her work in this blog from time to time…if she doesn't mind.  By the way,  I think she designed this rug (wall hanging) from a 8th or 9th century tapestry that she saw a photograph of….
Beside the kitchen door lie grandpa's yard boots….neatly placed for the next day's job

A watercolor that was done up on one of the trails in Logan Canyon.  I think there were way more rocks then what I painted…but you can only paint so many rocks...
