7 . 14 . 2015    Had a small piece of gesso'd paper left over from the previous painting.   Didn't want to waste it, so here's a quick 5 1/2" x 13" watercolor.  The thing about working on a gesso'd substrate with watercolor is that you can't let the paint dry as you move down the page unless you do it in sections... i.e....sky, middle ground, foreground.   Reminded me of that old Hoosiers movie where at the end the ass't coach said "don't get caught letting the paint dry when you run that picket fence". ... So... These are usually fast let-it-happen types of paintings...
